ĊineXjenza: Weed the People

15 December 2020 @ 7:00 pm

The documentary discusses the history of the cannabis sativa, which was considered as medicine for 3000 years and was then illegalised within the past decades due to the underlying issues of racism.

This controversial film delves into the queries that arise when medical cannabis is considered as an alternative treatment for diseases like cancer, most particularly when the victims are young children. After all, there is no rule book when it comes to treating loved ones from terminal diseases, especially when it has proven to be effective for certain patients.

This documentary also discusses the worries of pharmaceutical companies, which would end up losing both control and money. Professor Anthony Serracino Inglott, the chairperson for the Malta Medicines Authority, will be leading the discussion post the film. ĊineXjenza is supported by the Tiskopri project.

It is run by the Malta Chamber of Scientists, in collaboration with S-Cubed and Spazju Kreattiv.

Tickets are free, but booking is required.
