Forgotten Landscapes
16 February 2017 - 2 April 2017

Thursday 16 February 2017 – Sunday 2 April 2017
Venue: Space A (St James Cavalier)
“Every abandoned building has its stories, tales that confront the imagination, inspiring visitors to search for those moments when these buildings, like those sounds, were most alive. Just as are our ancestors who dwelled within them, some are gone. The buildings they once inhabited are now dust-riddled, lying desolate, crumbling and decaying. Travel back in time and listen to the voices of our predecessors. We live their trials and tribulations, share their memories. These structures had souls, the inhabitants gave them life. Buildings that were once cherished are now neglected. What truth lies hidden in these buildings?
…These are the stories of forgotten landscapes.”
FORGOTTEN LANDSCAPES is the first of a series of multimedia exhibits, including visual artwork, photography and film as well as publications, which seeks to fuse art and history in order to unveil the narratives behind abandoned structures and locations dotting the Maltese Islands.
