Malta, 1984. The twilight of Mintoff’s reign. In the narrow veins of Valletta, voices rise—anger spills into the streets. A demonstration ignites. The Curia is torn open, its silence shattered.

Fredu Pisani, a man of stone and soil, leads the charge. His motive is clear – to protect his family’s interests. Yet, in the fever of the hour, a silver cross vanishes. And with it, the fate of the Pisani family shifts.

Time folds upon itself. Days dissolve into months, months collapse into days. Two years pass. Kris, Fredu’s only son, now labors at the dockyard, his hands weathered by dust, sand and iron.

Today is the 17th of November, the beginning of the end. Two weeks before that day. The day when the rot will seep into the bones of the Pisani name.
