What comes to mind when you say Dementia?
Forgetfulness.
Fragility.
“Not here.” “Not there.”
No longer in control…

‘I Am Still Here’ reminds us that anyone afflicted with Dementia has travelled a tiresome journey. A life full of exciting, joyful (and painful!) experiences and relationships, thoughts and emotions have shaped that person and therefore, deserves to be celebrated.

The visible effects of this cruel illness, which is affecting increasing numbers of people, are all too clear. The real challenge is to look beyond them, to remember and see the person within,  a person who is struggling, forgetting, but still there.
