EN: inearth, Unearth: Archives of Matter and Ritual is an exploration of the associations and multifold meanings associated with various materials which are core to Agius’ practice.

Based on four chapters revolving around core materials Clay, Concrete, Earth and Rock, the exhibition unfolds as an investigation of the multiple layers of meaning of each material across space and time, as explored through the subjective lens of the artist himself. Through the juxtaposition of physical characteristics and values which each material possesses, each chapter will look towards each material as an archive, where the artist embarks on an artistic-archaeological process uncovering within traces of individual and collective memory, ways of being and ritual.
