Malta Café Scientifique – The Science Behind a Cybermind
14 March 2024 @ 7:00 pm
Ever wondered what it’s like to control objects with the power of your mind? Thanks to rapid advancements in Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs), this once-deemed science fiction is turning into reality. Join the talk by Dr. Natasha Padfield from the Centre for Biomedical Cybernetics at the University of Malta, as they push the boundaries of technology on March 14th, 2024, at 7 pm. This event is hosted by the Malta Café Scientifique in Studio B at Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta.
In her presentation, Dr. Padfield will describe a range of successful examples of BCI devices while delving into the mind-boggling challenges that researchers are facing, such as decoding thoughts and exploring commercial applications. Malta Café Scientifique extends its gratitude to the STEAM project, Spazju Kreattiv, for hosting this event, as well as the University of Malta and the Malta Chamber of Scientists (of which the café is a part).
