Malta Indie Shorts
Malta Indie Shorts is an exciting new monthly event for local filmmakers and audiences. Each month, we showcase 3 notable short films which were produced and shot here in Malta. We also have a brief fireside chat with each of the directors.
This audience interaction is hugely important for filmmakers. The film-going public also gets a great chance to learn about filmmaking, via artists working right here in Malta & Gozo.
Short Film Programme:
- Orrajt (2020) – Dir. Jeremy Vella:
George is forced to face the uphill bilingual battle of being both an English and Maltese speaker.
- Life Improvised: Crossing Paths (2020) – Dir. Ivan Malekin:
Two joggers, Stephen and Gracie, cross paths daily. But the routine is broken when Stephen takes a chance.
- Mummy’s Boy (2020) – Dir. Bruce Micallef Eyenaud:
A devoted son interviews a woman to be a carer for his elderly, and unwell, mother.
‘Mummy’s Boy’ includes brief, intense scenes of strong content. It is not recommended for audiences under 16 years of age.
