Book vs Film Event
Join us for an engaging evening that brings literature and cinema together! Based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Colson Whitehead, Nickel Boys tells the gripping story of Elwood Curtis and Turner, two Black teenagers who form a powerful friendship while enduring the cruel injustices of a reform school in Jim Crow-era Florida.
This event will have an introduction, followed by the film and a post film discussion on both the book and the film. If you don’t manage to read the book, don’t worry! You can still join us as this is an event that brings book & cinema fans together in a space to discuss!
