Prestorjha
Prestorjha is a solo exhibition by Enrique Tabone featuring works of contemporary art on the theme of the female figure in prehistoric Malta and Gozo, from a feminist perspective.
Works in this series include objects made from the artist’s signature use of plexiglass, site-specific installations, as well as video art from an intimate performance, along with art prints, some of which are produced from the artist’s studies on the structures presented during this exhibition. Building on the artist’s recent work exhibited at Spazju Kreattiv’s Art+Feminism 2020, Prestorjha engages a feminist reimagining on the pre-historic art of the Maltese Islands.
This exhibition includes contributions by photographers Alex Attard and Jean Marc Zerafa, digital work by Solid Eye, along with texts by archaeologist Isabelle Vella Gregory and curator Toni Sant, which appear in a catalogue raisonné, published in limited edition by Kite Group. This catalogue also features a retrospective of the artist’s work since 2010, as exhibited in 2022 at the University of Malta’s Valletta Campus in collaboration with the Institute of Maltese Studies.

Saturday 11th March 2023 at 11am
Sunday 2nd April 2023 at 4pm
Awake your body, mind, and spirit.
Combining ancient wisdom from different cultures, this yoga workshop we will focus on restorative asanas, some of which are especially useful for women, such as in the alleviation of period pains. Be immersed in our energetic dynamic flow yoga experience, where art and music will surround you as you take part in this yoga workshop at Spazju Kreattiv’s Space C3.
The session will include an empowering yoga flow, designed to open the heart and hips and create space for connection with the cosmic feminine. This will be followed by a sound bath experience, where participants will be surrounded by the soothing vibrations of crystal bowls and other primordial instruments. The combination of movement and sound will create a cocooning environment for you to connect, feel and be fully present.
Each session begins with a brief introduction to the Prestorjha concept by Enrique Tabone, followed by one hour of yoga and meditation led by certified yoga instructor Carla, Sun Cat Yoga, and Yv from Auraa Space. Together they have curated a session to celebrate the human body through balance.
The workshop is suitable for all levels; modifications and progressions will be offered and provided as needed. Sessions are open to all.
Space is limited, so please book ahead. Bring your own yoga mat and anything else you need for indoor practice.
