She said Darling With a “K”: Reimagining Katya Saunders
She elicited conflicting feelings from those closest to her, but everyone who knew Katya Saunders agrees on one point – she was a woman who lived her own truth, no matter what.
Now, just over three years after her passing, we celebrate Katya’s life with an exhibition that highlights the different facets of one of the first transgender women who broke boundaries in terms of sexual diversity and inclusion in Malta.
Complemented by the launch of her official biography, penned by Ramona Depares, the catalogue of photographs, clothes and memorabilia showcased in this exhibition will take us on a journey to get to know the real Katya.
Join us for an exhibition tour with curator Charlie Cauchi, followed by a Q&A with Ramona Depares (author of Katya – Easy on the Tonic), Charlie Cauchi (co-curator of She Said Darling with a “K”) and Joe Grima (MGRM committee member). The Q&A will be led by Anna Marie Galea.
