SongCraft 2023
Spazju Kreattiv and Aġenzija Żgħażagħ have again joined forces for the fourth edition of SongCraft to organise a professional programme for talented singer-songwriters aged 14 – 20.
The selected participants, who will be mentored by renowned singer-songwriters, will be receiving individual training, leading to a showcase of original compositions which they created with their mentors throughout this programme of SongCraft.
The main aim of SongCraft is to offer a space to teenage singer-songwriters who have already begun writing their own songs, by giving them the opportunity of mentoring to improve their skills in music and finally present their work in front of an audience, where a live concert will be organised in the theatre of Spazju Kreattiv in 2023.
SongCraft doesn’t include any type of competition. On the contrary, this project brings the participants together.
As part of their development, Spazju Kreattiv’s communications team will be guiding the young participants promoting their music and developing their careers according to the opportunities of various audiences. On the other hand, a group of workers from Aġenzija Żgħażagħ will closely follow their progress and offer them guidance.
Therefore SongCraft gives teenage singer-songwriters the opportunity to enhance their talent through a programme that guides them in the music industry, with some of the best musicians in the local industry.
Related to this, we can announce that the mentors of this edition of SongCraft are none other than Alison Galea, Alexandra Alden and Bettina Muchmore!!

A quick overview of the profession of these mentors:
Alexandra Alden is a singer, composer, guitar player, songwriter and music teacher. Until now, she launched three albums and gained her first local success when she was 18 years old with two songs which reached the top of the charts on the radio. After this, she studied for a Degree in Jazz Music in The Netherlands and was invited to be one of the four judges for two seasons of Xfactor Malta. This is her fourth time participating as a mentor in the programme SongCraft.
Alison Galea is a musician, a singer-songwriter with more than twenty years of experience in professional music, as well as touring experience. She forms part of 3 bands, Beangrowers, Etnika and The Shh, and has also collaborated with various artists in Malta and abroad. This is her third time participating as a mentor in the programme SongCraft.
Bettina Muchmore is a renowned singer-songwriter, music producer, sound designer, composer and main artist in the local music scene. But she is mostly a renowned artist who forms part of the group The New Victorians. This is her second time participating as a mentor in the programme SongCraft.
Every mentor will be assigned two young singer-songwriters, to create a programme with a mix of outstanding melodies and performances
