In a remote and indeterminate place in Andalucía (south of Spain), in the 1940s, in the midst of the post-war period. A nameless child, “Kid”, escapes from his village, a miserable place ravaged by violence and power.

Before him, an endless, arid plain that he must cross if he wants to get away from the abuses from which he flees.  While being persecuted his steps cross those of a shepherd, a solitary goatherd who offers him protection. From that moment on, nothing will be the same for either of them.
