The Spazju Kreattiv Art Collection - An Open Research project is part of an ongoing archival process that seeks to preserve the organisation’s legacy while bringing to the fore some of the main artworks donated to Spazju Kreattiv over the past 24 years.

Glasshouse

In the third phase of The Glasshouse Project, Gilbert Calleja, Jesmond Vassallo and Robert Zahra delve into the mechanics of creative production to come up with an exhibition of 2D and 3D works. Drawing metaphorical parallelsbetween artists’ studios and the lab-like conditions of glasshouses, the project explores creation as an ongoing organic process-germination, growth, reproduction, and decay.

Pawlu Curmi ‘Il-Pampalun’: Il-Bniedem, Il-Leġġenda

Pawlu Curmi ‘il-Pampalun’ was a person whose contributions to Malta’s carnival cannot be ignored. Born on the 12th December 1930 in Valletta, ‘Il-Pampalun’ was the 12th child out of 13, and from a young age, he showed a particular interest in carnival by helping out his father Giovanni with creating carnival floats and grotesque masks. From that point, his career in the carnival sphere continued and evolved as he began to touch upon elements relating to dance, choreography and much more.
