About the Project
Searching Traces
“Searching Traces” is a Video workshop addressing participants in Malta, who are interested in filmmaking, explorations of the islands environment, community life and the development of innovative narratives. Experienced filmmakers are welcomed, but there isn’t any former experience in Filmmaking required. Beginners are appreciated as well. Participants of the first “Mahalla-Festival-Video-workshop” from 2018 are going to be present.
They will support the newcomers in the basic shooting techniques together with the instructors. Locals and migrants are welcomed to work individual or colloberative on film projects. The formats and styles are various: Documentary, fiction, Music-Clip. The best results will be shown during a public screening in Malta and will be published on the Online-Platform StreetWalking.
They will be also part of the upcoming Mahalla Festival in Istanbul in September 2021. The workshop is part of an international growing circle of artists and filmmakers around the Mahalla Festival.
Spazju Kreattiv Artists’ Residency programme is organised in collaboration with the Valletta Design Cluster and the Ministry for Gozo
